The morning Ed Psyche class went well. I had all my homework downloaded from the website and notes taken about the videos. In the midst of all this, I stopped and wondered what I need to be in class for? Just read the book that cost many $dollar$, listen to the enclosed CD, browse the ‘Net and see whatever’s out there. The lecture is often geared to pointing out what is in the assigned chapter. Maybe I’m over-analyzing, but I need this class and its grade, and it is paid for, so just fill in the boxes and do my best.
I went to the Library to work, and learned that the printers are down today. Sorry for any inconvenience.
After lunch and 40 minutes at the quiet end of the hall doing crochet on the latest afghan, I decided to go to the study area closest to my next class and see if anyone else got a reasonable answer for problem 11 on the Math assignment. There was a sign on the door saying Math 135 Cancelled. Golly, I sure hope the Instructor’s baby daughter is alright. She had a trip to the emergency room over the weekend. That is scary, as any mother will say so. However, I realized that I had been loitering around campus for two hours for no true reason. ‘Free to go’ didn’t feel quite Free.
My latest CD from Half.com came today. Brother Iz Israel Kamakawiwo’ole singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World. It is the version of the music that was playing when Dr. Mark Green died on the tv show ER. This Hawaiian native singer has a sweet voice, good rhythm, nice back-up instruments. He passed away too soon, from what I can tell.
The reviews for the whole album are good.
Talk about impulsive purchases though.
I heard a snippet of a song over at Rosie O’Donnell’s blog and just had to get an album (actually two) by this guy.
I won’t be near a computer from Friday Noon until Sunday evening. Some buddies and I are off to the Women’s Retreat at Camp Friedenswald in lower Michigan. We’ll be meeting a friend who lived here in our town years ago, who now lives in Ohio, and catching up where the e-mails leave off.
When I get back, I want to go see a movie at the historic theater, then will have a boatload of homework to put into the folders. Monday seems like a long ways off.
Meanwhile, you all have some fun, because I sure plan to. There’s nothing quite like having girlfriends and a ride in a boat on the lake. I’ll try to get some decent pictures.
~~love and Huggs, Diane
